Creative Brief
The Situation
BCM’s IT manager was soon to depart, leaving the company without crucial support for their heavily relied-upon IT system. Recognising the need for seamless continuity and expert management, BCM sought a reliable partner to ensure their IT infrastructure remained robust and fully operational.
The Solution
BCM contacted us to step in, and we conducted a thorough survey and handover with their outgoing IT manager, enabling us to assume full responsibility for BCM’s IT support needs moving forward. We provided both remote and on-site assistance to users, addressing any issues promptly. Additionally, through our remote server checkup service, we identified systems at risk of failure and proactively replaced them to prevent disruptions.
BCM was also among the first to enrol in our prepaid maintenance service, which guaranteed them a crucial 4-hour response time for all IT issues they encountered.
The Results
BCM has not experienced any work-stopping downtime, and we have successfully met our 4-hour response time 90% of the time. Beyond day-to-day IT support, we have undertaken numerous projects over the past two years to optimise their IT infrastructure. Notably, we decommissioned two on-site servers, consolidating services onto a single server, enhanced email security by implementing Google’s 2-Step Authentication system, and migrated their calendar services from Google Apps to their local server.
What We Did
We implemented a comprehensive suite of technologies to support BCM’s IT infrastructure. This included deploying Apple OS X Server with Open Directory for user management, alongside File Sharing, Calendars, Wiki, VPN, DNS, and DHCP services to enhance their network capabilities. We integrated Google Apps for Work for seamless email and collaboration, and used CrashPlan Backup to ensure data security. MarketCircle Daylite was utilised for effective business management, while TeamViewer Remote Support and Freshdesk Ticketing provided robust tools for remote assistance and issue tracking.
