Sonos wireless multiroom music system

Sonos wireless multiroom music system

As our JamBox post was so popular we thought we should bring you up to speed on one other such product. The Sonos wireless multiroom music system is this product.

We've included a couple of short videos below to give you a quick run through of how it works and the potential level of integration to your existing sound systems. We've installed large Sonos systems that sound truly fantastic when in party mode. Sonos pride themselves in using quality components, thus making the various products not particularly cheap.

With many cheaper wireless music system you can expect a delay between rooms as the sound is buffered in a non-synchronised manner. Sonos go to extreme measures to make sure all speakers are completely synchronised with one another. If you are in the UK you have the added bonus of subscribing to a premium Spotify account which gives you access to a huge library of music. You will then be able to play any number of tunes in different rooms or simultaneously play the same tunes throughout your house. The system enables you to use practically any third party device via the standard audio jacks.

They now do a wireless dock enabling you to play directly from an iPod or iPhone. If you have a Mac or PC with your music stored in iTunes, they make it extremely easy to hookup to the Sonos system. If you store your music on a drive that is accessible on your network, you can also give Sonos direct access to that.

The best part is Sonos have made it extremely easy to control the entire system from various devices including iPod Touches, iPhones, iPads, Macs and PCs. If this is something you would like to get installed but you don't have the stomach for it, do give us a call.
